Win a Trip to Los Angeles with Hyprr X WCO

written by Stephen Morrison

The pull-up.

That deceptively simple looking exercise that is regarded by many as the true measure of fitness.

Presently, I can do none.

Despite being close to 40lbs lighter, I still have another 60lbs to lose and it will be some time before I can again perform a full pull-up.

But, what I can do is watch those who make pull ups look easy compete at Battle of the Bars at TheFitExpo in Los Angeles (LA) next month.

While it’s most likely that I will have to be content with watching Battle of the Bars live exclusively on the World Calisthenics Organization’s Hyprr.com profile, I would much rather watch it in person in LA.

And thanks to the teams at the new Web 3 social media platform Hyprr.com and the World Calisthenics Organization I might be able to (although maybe I shouldn’t share the news to increase my chances of winning) when I win a trip to Los Angeles.

For today, Hyprr and the WCO launch a free to enter competition to give one lucky Hyprr user a grand prize of flights to, accommodation in, and spending money for Los Angeles to watch Battle of the Bars for themselves and one other person (expect lots of friend requests)  at TheFitExpo which takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Centre between May 21st -22nd.  88,000 people are expected to attend over the two days with Battle of the Bars being one of the most anticipated events at TheFitExpo. You do not want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to win a trip to Los Angeles.

All you have to do to enter the competition and to win a trip to Los Angeles is create an account on Hyprr.com, follow the World Calisthenics Organization Hyprr profile, and comment on their competition post. Hyprr will then randomly select the lucky winner who will be jetting off to Los Angeles with their best friend.

The competition opens on May 1st and you have until May 6th to create  your profile and complete the required competition actions. The winner will be announced on May 7th.

This amazing Hyprr X World Calisthenics Organization prize includes:

  • Flights for 2 people to Los Angeles
  • Airport pickup and 4* hotel accommodation for four days and three nights close to the venue from Friday 20th to Monday 23rd May 2022.
  • Entry to the LA Fitness Expo 2022 for the 2 days.
  • Plus $500 spending money
  • You will also get to meet WCO CEO Brendan Cosso,  his team, and the athletes.
  • And you will maybe even get to do a pull-up.

This is a competition for fans of calisthenics, fitness lovers, and absolutely anyone who fancies a couple of days in LA.  Sign up to Hyprr.com, follow the WCO, comment on their post and you could win a trip to Los Angeles.

Create. Earn. Own. and Win a Trip to Los Angeles.

Hyprr X WCO Giveaway Terms and Conditions 2022

These are the terms and conditions which apply to the Hyprr Competition in partnership with the World Calisthenics Organization (WCO) in which one individual will win flights and accommodation for two people to Los Angeles to attend the WCO competition being held at The LA Fit Expo on 21st and 22nd of May 2022.

By entering this Competition you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Entry to the competitions is free and open to applicants who are available to travel to Los Angeles on 20th May 2022 and return on 23rd May 2022. The applicant and their guest must hold the correct visa entry requirements for entering the USA, apply for an ESTA (if applicable) and are subject to any relevant Covid travel requirements or restrictions which may be in place at the time of travel and are liable for any related costs. The winner and their guest must both be traveling from and returning to the same destination. Hyprr Inc and WCO do not take any responsibility for applicants travel entry requirements and any winners unable to travel will forfeit their winning entry.

Upon confirmation of flights, both ‘The Winner’ and guest will be required to board the scheduled flights.  If for ANY reason ‘The Winner and Guest do not board the scheduled flights, alternative flights will NOT be offered by Hyprr Inc or WCO. Any failure to board the scheduled flights ‘The Winner’ automatically forfeits their winning entry.  Hyprr Inc and WCO are not responsible or liable for air carrier travel delays, or changes to flight schedules.

Hyprr Inc and WCO are not responsible for covering, arranging or otherwise assisting with the travel or dining requirements over the course of the 4 days. A $500 cash prize is included to help cover incidentals(such as travel) and subsistence costs.  The ‘Winner’ and guest will be required to make their own travel and dining arrangements.

Hyprr Inc, Hyprr UK Ltd and WCO employees, agencies, licensees, freelancers, contractors (and those of any of our promotion partners, associated companies or prize providers) and their immediate family members or households (whether related or not), and anyone else professionally involved with this competition, are excluded from entering this competition.

Entrants must be over 18 years of age and only one entry per person will be accepted.

To enter the competition you need to do the following between 2nd – 6th May 2022:

  • Create a Profile on Hyprr
  • Follow the WCO page on the Hyprr app.
  • Comment on the competition post.

Entries must be submitted in the formats specified above by the closing date of 6th May 2022. Hyprr Inc and WCO reserves the absolute right to reject any incorrect, incomplete or late entries.

Hyprr Inc and WCO reserve the right to reject any entry on any grounds that it may from time to time consider appropriate. The decision of Hyprr Inc and WCO to accept or reject an entry is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The competition can be extended or canceled at any time without notice and at the discretion of Hyprr Inc and WCO.

Competition winners will be announced on 7th May after the close of the competition.

Hyprr Inc shall be obliged to contact the prize winner only via their Hyprr account. Any prize not claimed within 48 hours of sending a notification of a winning entry shall be forfeited. Hyprr Inc may award the prize to another entrant.

No alternative cash award or otherwise to the stated prizes are available.

Hyprr Inc may require winners to take part in post-competition publicity.

By entering the competition each entrant gives consent for Hyprr Inc to contact them via their Hyprr account. Hyprr Inc will only contact entrants in relation to this competition.

It’s a Hyprr Fitmas with HowManyMiles

written by Stephen Morrison

‘Tis the time of the year when many bloggers publish a review of the last 12 months. If truth be told, I botched up the first 11 months and the less said about it the better.

That’s not to say I haven’t looked back at the mistakes, choices and decisions made and considered what I should have and could have done differently.  I have spent significant time ruminating about where I am now and how I got here.

Here and Now

That’s not a planet

Here is 309lbs (only 45lbs lighter than my heaviest weight back in 2011, albeit with more muscle) with a “dodgy” knee, imposter syndrome, a neglected blog, a pinch of self loathing, and a partial eclipse as a belly.

However, I can either continue down this path of self destruction or I can excuse myself from this pity party for one.

That Lie

I won’t lie. Seeing 309lbs on the scale frightened me. I’ve had many chances to reverse this gradual weight gain but I have always used the excuse that “at least I wasn’t over 300lbs”. I have continuously lied to myself that I was in control, that I was not in danger.

Well, now I am and you might be wondering what I am going to do about it.

Normally, I woud chastise people citing this reductionist view, but I am simply going to eat less, move more and create more.

And hopefully win more (I have a cunning plan).

Time for a Cunning Plan

December is traditionally a month of parties, long lunches and general gluttony (well, for me at least) but this year I am going to do a Hyprr Fitmas Advent. 24 (minimum) days of being physically active and posting daily about my progress on Hyprr.

One of my excuses has been a lack of time. Yes, I am working on a few projects (more about one soon). Yes, I do also have a day job and yes, I am trying to spend more time with my family, but I am also spending too much time watching Netflix and too much time looking at expensive jpegs. I am then working late into the night/early morning (ironically writing this blog).

Yes, I am tired and yes, I am struggling with motivation but I cannot remain at this weight. My knee needs less load on it and the memories of being 354lbs have never left me.

So, what is my cunning plan and how can you help me and even take part?

FlexFM and Hyprr Flexmas Advent

My friends at London radio station FlexFM and at new social media, entertainment and NFT platform Hyprr are giving away gaming consoles, Merlin passes, spa breaks, shopping vouchers, HYPEs to spend on Hyprr.com, and much more every weekday from now until the 24th December.

All you have to do is create an account on Hyprr (available on desktop, iOS and Android), follow FlexFM and look out at 7.30am (yes, 7.30am) each weekday when they will ask the daily question. Comment with the correct answer on the post, then stay tuned to the FlexFM Breakfast Show and wait to see if you’re selected at 8:15am when you’ll join DJ Miss LA and DJ Sollie live on air to check behind the advent door for your prize.

And HERE is my plan.

I’ll get up early (from Dec 1st), comment on the FlexFM post at 7.30am, work out till 8.10am and win a prize at 8.15am, giving me time to shower and have a proper breakfast and prepare lunch before work. Every weekday. It’ll be my very own Hyprr Fitmas Advent.

Simples.

Best Laid Plans

However, we all know that it isn’t quite that simple. It requires preparation, commitment and consistency. And for me, a little bit of fun.

And this is where you come in. Every day, I will be posting a Hyprr Fitmas video of my workout, thoughts of the day (there may be expletives) and updates on my progress (possibly more expletives) on my Hyprr profile. And every day from Dec 1st to Dec 24th, I will award 1 HYPE to my favourite comment on my update.

And, if you want to, share your own Hyprr Fitmas video workouts using #HyprrFitmas. On Christmas Day, I’ll award 20 HYPES to my favourite video.

Whether it is going for a walk, doing some yoga or crossfit, or watching Netflix on a treadmill (it all counts) let’s all move more this December and spend less time on Telegram, Discord and PancakeSwap (mmmm…did someone say pancakes?).

Oh, and as a reward for reading this far, guess what my weight will be on Dec 24th and the closet will win a Garmin vivofit 3. Simply reply to this blog post before Dec 7th and the closest will win.

Win a Garmin

Terms and Conditions. Hyprr and FlexFM competition is only open to UK citizens aged 18 or over. My #HyprrFitmas competition is open to all Hyprr users (with an active wallet) while the winner of the Garmin VivoFit 3 needs to reside in the UK. Should more than one person correctly predict my weight, I will do a live draw on Hyprr.
